The big books of this genre would be The Hunger Games- Suzanne Collins and Divergent- Veronica Roth. I really liked both of these books and the adaptions for The Hunger Games were very good also.
The dystopian genre focuses around different societies and governments. They usually focus around a character who is brave enough to stand up to them.
